Chairman’s Report - |

COMMITTEE Having had yet another interesting and competitive year in the life of Sutton Gun
Club the following committee and myself are offering our good selves for re- SPONSORS Once more many thanks are due to our loyal sponsors for their support throughout this year. Their continued support ensures the well being of our club and we are extremely indebted to them for the pleasure and fun the competitions give to all members. If you feel that you are able to further enhance this auspicious group please contact Hayley by email at hdm6x@rock.com or by phone on 07538 719 110 to arrange a mutually suitable date, then simply attend on that said date with your prizes. Should you wish to have some input into the set up of the shoot please attend by 8am and we will endeavour to incorporate your ideas. SHOOT ROTAS The current rota system (I hope you will agree with me) is working well and we trust it will continue to do so though there is always opportunity for further duos to take part and join in with the rota allocation. To take an active part in the set duos, this task can be very rewarding and hopefully provides greater variation to the shoots for us all to enjoy. If you can assist in this important role simply contact any committee member at any time. IMPROVEMENTS During the past year we have purchased a number of new traps to give us more variety in available set ups. We have also introduced white clays for the benefit of us senior members whose eyes are not as sharp as they once were. We have also replaced the car park bridge as the previous was rotting badly. It has been suggested that we put a weight limit on it for certain members!!! (not mentioning any names) MEMBERSHIP Membership remains extremely healthy in these trying times and at the time of writing stands at 117 strong which amazingly continues to rise steadily. Weekly shoot figures have increased and regularly see 60 guns; this certainly bodes well for our future. UNPAID HELP Once again this is a vital service and has worked well throughout the year. With this in mind may I therefore on behalf of the whole membership express our gratitude to you all for your invaluable help, hard work and support to Sutton Gun Club. COMMITTEE MEMBERS As it currently stands we, the committee are very happy to act again on your behalf in the best interest of the club though if anyone would like to be taken into consideration for adding to our monthly meetings please feel free to advise a committee member accordingly. On Another Note
Finally on behalf of the committee |

Catton CPSA shoot - |
|
On Saturday 9/4/2011 Sutton Gun Club was represented by several members and they came away with a bag full of prizes. Ken P and Paul F shot so well in the first round they were classified AA shooters in with all of the professionals ( due to not being registered CPSA shooters 3 stands are used to provide a class ). With a second shoot Ken ended up classified A class and duly won the class. Andy R won B class; Gina L won the ladies and will be in the BASC magazine and Bob L took 2nd in the Veterans !
A brilliant result, well done all of you. |

Chairman’s Report - |

COMMITTEE Following another eventful and interesting year in the life of Sutton Gun Club, the
following committee members and I are offering ourselves for re-
SPONSORS Once again many thanks are due to all our loyal sponsors throughout the year. As I am sure you all appreciate your continued support ensures the welfare of our club. If you would like to join this auspicious group your involvement would be greatly appreciated. Simply contact Hayley by email hdm6x@rock.com or by phone 07538 719 110 to arrange a mutually suitable date, and attend on your day with your prizes. Should you wish to have some input into your sponsored shoot please attend by 8am on the day and go ahead with your requests depending on suitability of conditions on the day etc.
SHOOT ROTAS I hope you will agree the current ‘set up’ rota system has worked well throughout the year, the odd alarm clock incident may have occurred but with no real problems! There is always an opportunity for further ‘duo’s’ to join the rota and have an active input to a shoot. This can be very interesting for you, and provides more variation to the shoots. If you can help please contact any committee member in advance.
WEDNESDAY EVENING SHOOTS These continue to be very successful and increasing in popularity. This is due to the continued efforts of Messer’s Nick B****s and Roger St****e. Gentlemen thanks again for your precious time efforts.
IMPROVEMENTS Earlier in the year we instructed contractors to repair the driveway across the field. I hope you all agree that this has been a great asset to the club, and will be more appreciated as the winter sets in. Hopefully by the time you receive this we will have had (or will be having) the problems of the surface water and holes in the driveway/footpath from the Green Man downwards similarly dealt with depending on the kindness of weather conditions.
MEMBERSHIP Membership continues to remain extremely healthy, currently standing at some 120 members, and increasing. The closure of a local club is causing a significant upsurge in enquiries. Lately shoot figures have seen an increase of virtually a third to some 60 guns, again this is fantastic news for the future of Sutton Gun Club.
UNPAID HELP Once again this being vital to the running of the club, the system has worked well throughout the year. May I, on behalf of the club, thank all those concerned for their efforts and again volunteering their valuable time.
COMMITTEE MEMBERS As I mentioned earlier Winston and Alan are both standing down after an unbelievable 25 years of service between them. Therefore positions on the committee are now available. If you feel you could bring some ideas to invigorate the club, please contact Hayley forthwith.
Finally on behalf of the committee may I take this opportunity to wish you all a ‘Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year’ |

Mitsibushi World Series |
|
Andy R and Gina L competed in the Mitsibushi World Series at the Midland Game Fair . Gina was shooting by virtue of Bob's abstention due to injury ; Gina having finished only 1 shot behind Bob in the qualifiers and therefore legitimately standing in as first reserve . Both Andy and Gina shot in C class and represented themselves and the Club admirably . It would be fair to say they both had hoped to get through to the final, but it was not to be this time. Never the less to get this far was an achievement in itself. |

Well Done Adrian
April 18th 2010
Adrian P warmed up before representing Warwickshire on Sunday afternoon by shooting an incredible 74 out of 75 at Sutton gun club.
It is with great sadness that we recorded the passing of John Russell and as a mark of respect the Club held a minute's silence in his remembrance on Sunday 6th December. 2009
On January the 10th 2010 the Club contributed the raffle takings and a total of £235.00 was collected for a donation to Cancer Research in memory of John.
Andy Russell thanked everyone for their kind contributions.
If any member not in attendance wishes to make a contribution; which is going to Cancer Research; then please forward to Ken P or Les A
Well Done Jack
May 10th 2009
The club is proud to congratulate Jack on his achievement. The English Open was held at High Lodge, Suffolk. Jack won the "B" class with 83 out of 100 by 3 clear shots, and came 3rd overall (all classes) in the Junior rankings, which is up to 21 years old; and he is not yet 17.
Tom who is almost 90 retires from helping out at the club after more years than most can remember.
Les who has known him for 24 years, made a presentation to him on behalf of the members of club. This took place at the AGM on the 23/01/2012.
Les thanked him for all his efforts, and gave an interesting talk about Toms life and work over the years.
Tom thanked everyone for the gifts.
